- 1/3 cup whole almonds, raw
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 cup blueberries, frozen
- 2 Medjool dates, pitted
- water
Instructions
- Soak the almonds in one cup of water overnight, or use boiling water 30-60 minutes ahead of making the smoothie. Discard the water when you're ready to make the smoothie.
- Combine the soaked almonds, banana, blueberries, and dates together in a blender. Add 2/3 cup water to begin with, and more if needed to get things moving in the blender.
- Blend until smooth. I give this smoothie at least 1-minute extra blend time due to the almonds.
Notes
If you're impatient and don't want to soak the almonds, this recipe still works — just be aware that the texture will be slightly different {more grainy}.
