So... have I mentioned I have a cookbook coming out? One that you'll see in person in stores on the shelves IN REAL LIFE very soon??
I haven't actually come out and said it anywhere on the blog, but literally a year ago this week I signed with Sterling Publishing to republish a new version of Nut Butters! Remember that one? The book I self-published November 2013? That book, only BETTER! The new version has ten (TEN!!!) new recipes, a new layout, some new photography, and, um, professional design help that the first version sorely needed. YAY for professionals!
I'm not sure why I never mentioned it — at first I was in shock/disbelief that it was actually happening, then I just wasn't sure when/how/if to share... but the fact is, Nut Butters is coming out MARCH 3! That's in a month! And seeing as February is a short little thing, March 3 will be here in NO TIME. So, I recommend you go pre-order your copy! You can get a special pre-order price right now on Amazon, and then you'll get it ASAP!
This process has been a fun glimpse into the publishing business — although a somewhat unusual one. Having already made the product, there was relatively little work on my end (other than making a few more recipes and approving things) — which might be why this seems too good to be true, sometimes! This experience certainly is a testimonial for the attitude of just MAKING THINGS HAPPEN! I had no idea that my self-published book would get picked up by a "real" publisher, and then I'd be getting checks for work I already did. Imagine if I'd never taken the leap to actually make a product at all — nothing would have happened! All that is to say: if you have something you want to make, just do it. Just get it out there and see what happens. It could be wonderful!
Thank you all so much for your support of the book the first time around — I love reading the incredible Amazon reviews and seeing orders roll in every month. I so appreciate your support continuing to this new version! xoxo

Yay for you! Such an exciting opportunity. I am intrigued to hear how the switch from self-publishing to traditional publishing went. I wonder how common this is? Anyway, congratulations!

Thanks, Eileen! The switch was so seamless — they contacted me, t legalities figured out, sent files, made a few more recipes, and that was basically it!! I also wonder how common it is... I feel pretty lucky!
