Or, a list of my favorite cookies!! 'Tis the season to bake ten million cookies, so I thought I'd give you a little shortcut to my favorite cookie recipes. I plan to post a few new ones in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes out for those!
Here you go — the best Christmas/Holiday/Anytime cookies, in no particular order:
-
- Brown Butter Soft Batch Cookies
These are some of my favorite cookies just purely for the texture! Okay, and the taste. Brown butter — do I need to say more? These will DEFINITELY be a hit for a cookie swap!

- Lemon Crinkle Cookies
If you like a serious lemon flavor, you will adore these cookies! They're BURSTING with lemon (and making my mouth water just thinking about them!), and a fun take on crinkle cookies.

- Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies
Ohohoho! I'm normally hard to convince that a plain white cookie is any good. These cookies changed that for me. They are IMPOSSIBLE to stop eating! I have no doubt that my consumption of these was completely inappropriate, and my urge to make them regularly is also a bit embarrassing. Swap any kind of jam for the raspberry, and you can have multiple kinds of cookie with ONE DOUGH! Brilliant.

- Chocolate Mint Chip Cookies
These cookies pretty much changed my cookie-making life. For one, I discovered the wonders of MINT CHIPS! Amazing. Two, they're really, really tasty. Chocolate lovers will rejoice. Chocolate-mint lovers will pretty much keel over and die of happiness. No joke, make these. ASAP.

- Iced Lemon Cookies
Okay okay, I know I already have a lemon cookie on this list... but these are ridiculously delicious, too! I sound like a broken record, but I have such fond memories of this cookie! Again, super lemony — a good thing in my book. I'm a huge fan of the icing on these, too!
- Iced Lemon Cookies
-
- Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies
Another life-changing cookie recipe! This is actually the same base recipe as the Chocolate Mint Chip cookies above, purely because it is THE BEST chocolate cookie dough ever. EVER. I'm pretty sure I'll continue using this dough for every chocolate cookie I make from now until... ever. No joke! Crushed candy canes make this a fun holiday cookie!

- Fresh Cranberry Lemon Cookies
YES. These cookies got my cranberry obsession really, really rolling. I see so many "white chocolate cranberry" cookies, which have dried cranberries, and I thought: why not use FRESH cranberries? They're only like ten million times more delicious, absolutely no exaggeration there at all. Indeed, these cookies are p.h.e.n.o.m.e.n.a.l. Phenomenal. If you make ONE cookie this holiday season, make this one. {did I just play favorites? oops!}
- Fresh Cranberry Lemon Cookies
-
- Sugar and Spice Star Cookies
These are a family tradition in my family, and pretty much the only time I ever used icing as a kid. Orange icing = the best icing. These cookies are like sugar cookies plus spices plus better flavors plus a whole lot of AWESOME. I'm surprised these aren't a staple on everyone's holiday cookie list!

- Toffee Cookies
Without a doubt, my favorite Christmas-specific cookie. These could totally be made year-round, but this is another recipe from my childhood: the *BEST* recipe from Christmas growing up. These are the one and only cookie I've ever seen my Dad make, simply because he loves them so much. And I totally agree with him. The name might be misleading — they're not hard like toffee, they're super soft and flavorful. Ugh. I need to go make some RIGHT NOW.

- Brown Butter Snickerdoodles
I know I've said many of these cookies were life-changing, and you probably think I'm exaggerating, but... well, here's another. I had really just started playing with brown butter when I first made these, and it was a revolutionary moment in my cooking/baking career. These. are. INSANE. They're soft, they're sweet, and if you've had brown butter on ANYTHING you know what I'm talking about. They're just too good to pass up!
- Brown Butter Snickerdoodles
OK fine here are a few more to keep you going!
- Decorated Dark Chocolate Cookies
- Chocolate Crackle Cookies
- Chewy Ginger Molasses Cookies
- Neiman Marcus $250 Cookies
- Mint Brownie Sandwich Cookies
Have fun baking!!
